Cup profile:

The coffee has a beautiful aroma (honey, floral, dark chocolate, nut, coriander seeds) sweet with many fruits (orange, grapefruit, apple), spicy (clove like, blackcurrant, vanilla). Well balanced with medium acidity. The cup is very clean and the aftertaste is extremely smooth. The overall score is 86% on the SCAA scale.

Really bad

Went to the kivu noir coffee shop in Kigali and it was great. Unfortunately the beans they send to USA are terrible. Bought multiple bags and had to throw them away. The coffee taste was awful.

10 month old coffee

Received 2lbs of coffee with a roast date of July 2022 (ordered May 2023). Muted flavor/aroma, bloom was lackluster. Coffee was just alright. I've had the opportunity to sample/brew a freshly roasted cup of Kivu Noir and it was amazing. Disappointed in what I received when I ordered.

Bold and delicious

Whether using an espresso maker or a French press, this coffee does not let you down. It is also nice to be able to see which form it comes from. My first order I placed, I actually called the coffee shop in Rwanda and had a wonderful time dealing with them.

Double AA beans done correctly. Can’t say to much more than if you want quality coffee that is next level kivu noir is it... Hopes and prayers for the return of this fine coffee in the k-cups.
